Dance World Cup 2008 Vancouver
Zeynep Okcu School of classical Ballet will perform at the Dance World Cup 2008 in Vancouver between June 29-03 at River Rock Casino Resort. The school won 2006 Italy Dance Grand Prix leaving behind its rivals from Italy, Switzerland, England, South Africa, Scotland, Iceland, USA, and France. More glory for Nuri Bilge Ceylan at Cannes
The 61st edition of the Cannes Film Festival ended bringing one more victory to Turkish cinema. Nuri Bilge Ceylan won the Best Director prize with his latest drama 'Three Monkeys.'“Three Monkeys” was the favorite among 22 films for the prestigious Palme d'Or award. This film was Ceylan's third appearance at Cannes. At previous festivals, he won the Jury Grand Prize for “Uzak” (Distant) in 2003 and the FIPRESCI Movie Critics' Award for “?klimler” (Climates) in 2006, making this Ceylan's third prize at Cannes, regarded as the world's most prestigious film festival.
The Few, the Proud
What a day! Our group, all wearing traditional costumes received standing ovations from Victorians and finished the Parade strong among marching bands, floats and clowns. Thanks to Altug, Ayla, Burc, Claire, Elif, Erdem, Gursel, Kemal, Kutalmis, Melis, Meltem, Nuray, Roxanne, Selma, Soner, and Vecihe who waited patiently for a long time in the parking lot before the parade starts and represented our community cheerfully during the Parade.
23 Nisan Kutlamasi - 23 April Celebration
23 April celebration took place in Cedar Hill Rec Centre with a turnout about 40 people and lot's of kids. Thanks for everyone for joining us and bringing delicious food.
